About GPR Maps
Background
The NSW Government established the Government Property Register (GPR) in 1988 to provide one central record of all government property holdings.
The GPR identifies and records information about NSW Government owned and/or occupied land. This means the GPR should include information about all land registered in the name of, controlled by or leased to all NSW government departments and statutory authorities as defined by the Public Finance and Audit Act.
The GPR is automatically populated with current property ownership information and registered leases from LPI's integrated titling system and current land values from the Valuer General's register of land valuations. All departments and statutory authorities, including statutory State Owned Corporations (SOCs) and universities, are required under the Annual Reports Acts to provide supplementary information on the current use of their land, improvements and whether it is essential to operations. The GPR provides both a textual search on properties or agencies and a spatial representation of properties displayed over either a cadastral and street map or aerial photography.
The GPR system comprises an application (register) and a spatial viewer. These applications are accessible (to approved NSW Government agencies) via SIX Portal and contains screens to search for, view and maintain information on Government properties. The GPR spatial viewer shows the location of properties layered upon maps and aerial photography.
See the individual help topics at the left-hand side for more detailed information on SIX Maps 2.0.
